Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association July 22, 2008 Fellow Directors of District VII, As many of you know, Danny Swartz resigned his District Representative in early June 2008. Danny mentioned in the letter he sent out to the district band directors that the state would either want an election or would appoint someone to fill for the remainder of his term of one year. On June 30, 2008, Curtis Nolley, VMEA president, asked if I would take over as acting district representative for the remainder of the term. I responded that I would be honored to be District VII’s representative. It is with great pleasure that I represent you, District VII. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at any of the numbers or email listed below. Also I am attaching a calendar for upcoming District VII events. I will also send out a calendar to all principals in District VII so that they are aware of the importance of the dates mandated by the state. Once again, I will do my best to work for YOU and OUR STUDENTS of District VII. Please check the calendar of events, which is attached and make plans for our events up coming in the 2008-2009 school year. Also I could use some schools to volunteer to host Solo and Ensemble Festival in their areas. If you look on the calendar you will see the areas needed. Warm Regards, Cindy Roberts
