Ric Galyean called the meeting to order on January 26, 2001 at 6:15PM at Richlands Middle School.

Motion was made by Mark Collins to cease of the minutes being read from February 4, 2000.

 Junior All District Report by Danny Swartz
            Clinicians:         Symphonic – Ralph Ford –Troy State University
                                    Concert - Hollie Stevenson

Danny Swartz thanked all the band directors and their children for their help for this weekend.

A special Thank You was given to Danny Swartz and Bruce Miller for all of their hard work and effort
for this weekend. 

Senior All District Report by Ric Galyean

Clinicians:        Symphonic – John Culvahouse – University of Georgia
                       Concert -  David Romines – University of Georgia

Ric Galyean brought up the idea of having a social event after rehearsal on Friday evening.  Most of
the area directors were in agreement with the event.

All District Auditions by Mark Collins
Auditions ran smooth this year no complaints from anyone.

Thank you to Gary Holley for developing the computer software for tabulating the scores

Directors need to make sure if their students are eligible for All State Auditions and plan on not attending Senior District that the directors need to contact the next students high school and make them aware of
this change.

District Concert Festival by Rebecca Sykes
District concert festival will be held on March 23 and 24. 
Make sure manual fees are paid.   The manual fee is $40.00.  This fee is paid every three years.
Directors need to make sure that their MENC membership is paid in full.  The cost of it is $82.00.
This year there will be one set fee for concert festival of $150.00.
Judges this year will be James Meredith, James Daugherty, Dr. Dave Widder, and Dr. Scott Cohen

All District Auditions – John S. Battle – December 8, 2001

Jr. High All District Band Clinic – January 25 & 26, 2002 –

Richlands High School – Danny Swartz and Bruce Miller

Sr. High All District Band Clinic – February 1 & 2, 2002 –

Grayson County – Ric Munsey and Bob Ballengee

District Concert Festival – March 22 & 23, 2002-

            Virginia High School – Tom Hopson & Ben Parks

Solo and Ensemble Festival:

            Area I – Still Need Site

            Area II – Holston High School - May 8^th

            Area III – Carroll County in spring

  New Business:

Motion:            Virginia High School will become the permanent host for concert band festival pending other factors (such as new director or principal).

Motion was seconded and passed.

Concert Time Clarification:

                        Jr. District Concerts will start at 5:00PM.

                        Sr. District Concerts will start at 6:00PM.
