Ric Munsey called meeting to order at 6:30pm at Grayson County High School on February 1, 2002. 

Motion: Accept the minutes as printed from the last the meeting on January 25.  The motion was seconded and passed. 

OLD BUSINESS:

Report from Bob Ballengee about Senior District.   Clinicians for this years events were Symphonic Band:  Robert Jager, Concert Band:  James Spinizzolla

Report from Tom Hopson concerning District Concert Festival.  Discussion about moving District Concert Festival due to the race in Bristol causing problems with lodging of clinicians.  Everyone should have one mailing about concert festival and expect another by the 1st week of March.  This year we will go in graded order.

All Virginia Auditions will be held on February 23 at James Madison.

April 4-6 – All Virginia Band Clinic at James River High School.

Solo and Ensemble Sites:

Area I  -           St. Paul            – May 11

Area II -           Holston            -  May 7

Area III-          Carroll County Intermediate      -?

District Auditions at John Battle on December 14, 2002

 Jr. Clinic – Pulaski County – January 24-25, 2003

Sr. Clinic – Grayson County – January 31- Feb 1, 2003

 Manuel Fees are on a three year rotation.  Fees are $40.00.  Reference # in four digit for district concert on the discs.

New Business:

Motion:            Move that Tom Hopson adjust the Concert Festival Date to avoid conflict with the Bristol Race for the 2003 Concert Festival is he is willing to host once the Bristol Race date has been set.  This date should be the 3rd or 4th weekend in March if possible.  The motion was seconded and passed.
